Formula 1 Schedule for the 2025 Season

FIA and Formula 1 announce 2025 calendar – Formula One World Championship Limited

This year, it is the 75th anniversary of the FIA Formula One World Championship. The season-opener will take place in Australia from March 14 to 16. The most significant change in the schedule for the 2025 season is that the Las Vegas Grand Prix will start two hours earlier than it did last year. There are 24 events on the schedule and the final event will take place in Abu Dhabi on December 5 to 7.

Great anticipation for pre-season testing and season-opener

Pre-season testing in Bahrain took place from February 26 to 28. The 10 cars run for two sessions of four hours each day. Every track session has been broadcast live on Sky Sports F1. Viewers in the U.S. are able to watch all the races. McClaren and Ferrari are top contenders this year.

Historically, betting on F1 wasn’t as popular as betting on other sports. However, the popularity of F1 in online sports betting has risen with gambling sites offering many markets for F1 events. Bettors can make more informed decisions about their bets with insights from data analytics.

Drivers to watch

Drivers like Lewis Hamilton have great star power and help to attract audiences. His switch from Mercedes to Ferrari will add to the excitement of the 2025 season. Max Verstappen at Red Bull is the reigning champion but he experienced some troubles from mid-2024. Other notable drivers to watch include McLaren’s Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris, along with Hamilton’s teammate Charles Leclerc.

New faces on the grid

Six drivers will be on the grid for the first time this season. As new drivers, they need to find ways to beat stress and control their anxiety. Isack Hadjar, Andrea Antonelli, and Gabriel Bortoleto are pure rookies. Liam Lawson, Oliver Bearman, and Jack Doohan have some experience. Lawson for Red Bull and Antonelli for Mercedes have cars capable of winning races. The beginning days of the season will be crucial for all these rookie drivers as they acclimatize to F1 racing.

Following stages

Following the season opener in Melbourne, Australia, F1 will travel to China from March 21 to 23, where the Shanghai International Circuit will host the first F1 Sprint of 2025 on March 22.

To optimize geographical flow, the schedule will continue in Japan in April, followed by Bahrain and Saudi Arabia.

Round six will be held in Miami in May before the championship moves to Europe. The action shifts to Azerbaijan in September and Singapore in October, before F1 returns to the Americas. The season will conclude with races in Qatar in November and Abu Dhabi in December.

Tweaks to the rules

The general feeling among top FI drivers is that this F1 could be one of the tightest in a long time.

  • Since 2019, drivers finishing in the top 10 could earn a bonus point by setting the fastest lap in the race. This was a controversial bonus and this year will see its removal. The rest of the points system hasn’t changed.
  • Teams will be notified by the FIA if temperatures reach 31C or above during a Sprint or Grand Prix. They will then have to fit a mandated driver cooling system.
  • There will be limits to race drivers testing old cars. Drivers can only take part in four days of TPC running and can’t exceed 62 miles of running in total.
  • There will be more mandatory FP1 (free practice sessions) running for rookies. This will ensure double the amount of track time in a race weekend for those who have participated in no more than two F1 races in their career.

The 24 Grand Prix weekends include six F1 Sprint races. A total of 21 countries on five different continents are on the schedule and an exciting selection of circuits will offer plenty to look forward to.
